Camp-Out

Cooking is done independently by students with supervision from the Group Leader & Teachers.

Students will use pots, and stoves fuelled by methylated spirits to cook their dinner on a Trangia stove.

Camp Cooking is optional but if selected is a great way to immerse students in a full camping experience.

In the event of a Total Fire Ban day, all food will be cooked in the camp kitchen and delivered to the campground.

We will provide you with a tent, a day pack and a sleeping mat.

Following the packing list provided will ensure you have everything for a comfortable night.

Toilets are Porta-Loos at the campsite. Your Group Leader will talk to the group about how to use the toilets, keep the toilets clean, and dispose of any sanitary products.

Supervision will be split between Group Leaders and Teachers, ensuring both get breaks and time to set themselves up for the night. Your Group Leader will have a conversation with you about how you would like to split supervision. If you’re not sure about something, or feel you need a break, speak to your Group Leader.

Camp outs can be overwhelming for some students. Your help with keeping the group on task is the best way to ensure students make the most of their camp out experience

Camp outs happen in all types of weather. If the weather is cold or rainy, we will make sure students are well equipped with warm clothes, wet weather gear and appropriate sleeping bags. Often camp outs in adverse weather are where students grow and learn the most from the challenge.
